Court Usage

Grass Courts

The grass courts are open from late April until early September weather dependent. In general, the courts open at 11am with the exception of courts 1 and 2 which do not open until 5pm on weekdays. The grass courts close at 9.15pm. This is extended until 9.30pm in June and July. Occasionally the courts have to be closed because of the weather. Remember to treat the grass with care and do not play on the courts in the rain or when they are damp.

Artificial Grass Courts

The artificial grass courts are available for play all year round at any time of day. In the winter months booking is available online. Please follow this link for more information and to book courts. Since mud and dirt damage the artificial surface, players should use the path and the mud scraper and mat provided to clean their shoes.

Floodlights

Floodlights are available on courts 6, 7 and 8 for play until 10pm.

Rules

Additional Rules for Juniors

Juniors have the same rights as Seniors on Mondays to Fridays until 5.30 pm and will give way to Seniors at all other times. Juniors may play on the grass courts at any time when playing with a Senior Club member. Non-alcoholic drinks may be purchased from the bar but may only be consumed on the terrace or in the lounge.

Identification

Help combat the problem of non-members using the Club facilities by wearing a shoe tag. Persons not wearing a shoe tag and not able to prove membership may be asked to leave the courts immediately. It is the duty of all members to query players not wearing a shoe tag regarding their membership. This ensures that members and paying guests only use our courts.

Visitors

The fee for visitors is £5. Each member may introduce up to 12 guests each year but the same guest may only play ONCE in any month. There is no restriction on how many guests you may bring on any one occasion provided that your total in the year does not exceed 12.

It is the responsibility of individual members to ensure that guests are signed in and that guest fees are paid. The signing in book is behind the bar or should the bar be closed the fee can be placed through the Club Steward's letterbox to the right of the main door.

Any member not adhering to these rules will be requested to explain their non-compliance to the Tennis Committee.
