Our fantastic grass courts (the only ones in Edinburgh) are open from the end of April to the beginning of September each year, weather permitting.
Many thanks to Kevin and Tom the groundsmen who do such an excellent job in keeping the courts in such great condition – and of course to Neil Ross our Grounds Convenor.
In 2019, the grass courts will open on Friday 12th April, followed by supper and the Wimbledon Ballot in the Club House and will close on Sunday 15th September.
Each year together with the Squash section we run a Grange Racketlon competition.
What is the Grange Racketlon? It’s a competition where you play 3 sports – Tennis, Squash and Table Tennis in a mini-league format – with prizes for winners at all levels. You don’t have to great at all 3 sports to enjoy the tournament – so why not give it a go – and maybe try out a new sport?
The next Racketlon tournament will take place in May 2020 - look out for emails nearer the time.
We run 4 Men’s and 3 Ladies teams in the ESLTA Dunlop leagues – which run from the end of April to mid June each year, as well as entering the ESLTA Summer Social League and the Ladies Scottish Cup. So there is plenty of opportunity for those looking to play team tennis.
More details of the teams and latest results can be found on the Team page. Click here to see more
Members of the 150 Club pay a monthly subscription of £5 with the proceeds split 50:50 between Member prizes and Tennis Funds based on the numbers drawn in the last National Lotto each quarter.
More details can be found on the 150 club page.
Sale of Tennis Balls
A small stock of Tennis balls for sale (£4 per tube) are held behind the Bar in the Club House.
A racquet restringing service is provided by Rab McGill (mob: 07802 442 024). Just drop your racquet off in the restringing box (upstairs in the Squash corridor – Rab will give you the code) and Rab will do the rest.
The combination has been emailed to everyone but if you need reminding just contact us. If no-one comes onto the court after you please ensure that you lock the court with the padlock and turn the dials away from the setting.
