Real Tennis EGM - 3 December 2009

This is a very exciting venture with very little (if any) downside for the Club. I would ask you therefore to read carefully the accompanying documents and come to the EGM on Thursday 3rd December to vote on this proposal. The constitution does not allow for proxy votes so you must attend to register your vote.

2009 AGM

The Dyvours Tennis AGM will take place on Wednesday 28 October at 7.30pm at the Grange Club.
The tennis section is run for members by members and it is therefore important that as many people as possible attend to hear what’s been happening in the Club and input into next year’s plans. Download the agenda and last year’s minutes. There will be a bar promotion, so a good reason to come along for a drink to round off the tennis season!
If there are any motions you would like discussed at the meeting, please submit them to info@grangedyvourstennis.org by 21 October 2009.

Scotland v Australia - Friday 28th August 2009

Cricket Scotland has kindly provided the Grange Club with a limited number of complimentary Pavilion passes. Please note that access is for the Pavilion area only and pass-holders will not be able to 'wander round' the rest of the ground. As before, passes will be allocated on a 'first-come-first-served basis' to club members who are over 18. If you are allocated a pass and subsequently cannot attend please advise me ASAP - I envisage a lengthy waiting list.
It is strictly one ticket per member. Those who miss out on a complimentary ticket can purchase ground tickets direct from Cricket Scotland. It is believed that the cost will be £39 per adult ticket.
Applications must be made by emailing Tollandgo@slab.org.uk

Sunday Teas

The tea rota is now available. Please sign up by emailing the website at info@grangedyvourstennis.org.

Court locks

It has now been agreed we will simply replace the lock with another combination padlock. This will have the same combination as before.  It can simply be snapped shut when you leave the court and should ensure members who do not have their keys with them can still open the court. In an effort to ensure that the courts are not used by non-members please lock the gates if the courts are not being used when you finish your game.

STOP PRESS!

Dyvours allocation of Wimbledon tickets depends on the number of members of British Tennis we have. So if you haven't already signed up, make sure you do here https://www2.lta.org.uk/Membership/Join/ and click on new members 'register'. It's free if you confirm that you are a member of an affiliated club. The more members we have, the more tickets will be available!

The Grange Club AGM

The AGM was held on Wednesday 28 January 2009. The meeting was chaired by club Chairman Duncan Wylie and was attended by members of all 4 sections. Main topics discussed included ground maintenance, car parking and the proposed Real Tennis development. The General Committee were delighted to announce the forthcoming where the Grange will host the cricket one day international when Scotland will play Australia on 28 August 2009. The Whitelaw Trophy for outstanding contribution to the club was awarded to Christie Looby.

Committee Members

Dyvours is looking for new committee members. If you are interested and can help out, or simply want to find out more about what may be involved, please speak to one of the committee or email Avril. You don't have to give a lot of time but any time you can spare is vital as the section can't run without volunteers, so if you can help out at all, please let us know.
